The artwork began with a question.
Who would respond?
Every envelope carried more than an artwork.
It carried evidence that someone chose to participate.
The project became less about collecting objects than collecting relationships.
This is one of my first experiments in building conditions for participation.

The Mail Art Project began as an open invitation posted online asking a simple question: What happens if anyone, anywhere, is invited to participate?
Over three months, more than two hundred envelopes arrived from around the world. Each submission was documented, photographed, inventoried, researched, and included in a published artist book featuring statements from participating artists whenever possible. The collection was later exhibited as a suspended installation before becoming part of an ongoing archive.
Rather than focusing on finished artworks alone, the project explored how generosity, curiosity, and shared participation can create community across distance.
